Ocelot Unit Guide
Normal Method
- If you are not aiming for a no-kill run, just use AK-47 to kill them all.
- Knock out the enemy soldiers that enter the room with stun grenades.
No-Kill Method
- Tranq the enemy outside the window using “stretch shot”. Hold down R1 and press R2 + L2 at the same time.
- Stand on the bed and tranq the enemy soldiers outside.
- Get under the bed and hold the stun grenade.
- Throw two stun grenades as they rush in (throwing three will force a danger alert)
- Hit the box outside the room to lure the enemy soldiers on the roof.
- On the southeast, tranq the enemy soldiers in the distance.
- Headshot the enemy soldiers you lured on the roof.
- Tranq the enemy soldiers to the west by hiding behind cover and using R1 + L2 to “peek shoot.”
Useful Shooting Techniques for No-Kill and No-Alert Run

Useful Strategies
Destroy the armory to weaken enemy soldiers.
If you use TNT to blow up the armory in the northeast of the area, the enemy soldiers’ weapons will be weaker. This is to prevent them from having access to assault rifles and shotguns.
If you are going through the game with confidence that you will never be spotted, you can ignore the armory.
Destroy the food stores to weaken enemy soldiers.
You can also destroy the food stores to make enemy soldiers go hungry. This causes them to get knocked out easily by hitting or rolling through them.
Enemy soldiers will also pick up food when they are hungry. Try luring them with rotten meals to poison them.
You can destroy the Hind with TNT.
The Hind can be destroyed using TNT. Doing so will prevent it from appearing later in the story.

Tips for Beating Ocelot
- Throwing a snake you caught alive or dropping a beehive will attract Ocelot’s attention.
- If you kill a markhor on Ocelot’s side, he will get angry, so be careful.
- Watch for when Ocelot reloads or moves as these are good opportunities to attack him.
- Even if you hide behind cover, the bullets will ricochet and still hit you.
Normal Strategy
Throw a grenade at Ocelot when he is hiding behind cover. You can also deal damage to him with with M1911A1 or AK-47. To distract Ocelot, drop a beehive near his location.
No-Kill Strategy (Deplete Stamina)
Climb the tree and use the elude action. Ocelot will approach you defenselessly, allowing you to shoot him.
Ocelot can perform an invincible counterattack that you should avoid.
Use a stun grenade when Ocelot hides behind a tree.
Chyornaya Peschera Cave Branch

The Pain Boss Guide
Tips for The Pain
- Bees are less likely to attack you if you wear white face paint like the Snow Face Paint.
- Bees are repelled by cigarettes.
- If a bottle is thrown at you, dive into the water.
- Escape into the water when the boss shoots bullet bees and fires the tommy gun.
- Avoid taking damage from the grenades that the bees carry by performing the climbing motion (elude action) at the rocky areas to gain invincibility time.
Normal Strategy
Deal damage with AK-47 or M1911A1. Once the bees attach, use a grenade or M37 to repel them.
No-Kill Strategy (Deplete Stamina)
Aim for headshots to make the boss flinch. Then, shoot him repeatedly with the MK22 (quickly press R2 twice to fire continuously) to continue depleting his stamina.
If a bottle is thrown at you, swim to another platform.
You can interrupt the boss’ throwing and bullet bee attack by landing headshots.

The End Event
If you use the SVD to snipe and kill The End as he sits on his wheelchair, you can skip the boss battle with The End later (though you will not get the No-Kill reward this way).

There is a gasoline drum placed near the enemy soldier. You can shoot the drum using the SVD to take out The End (thus skipping his boss fight later).
Defeating The End is way is not counted as a “kill” which you can do if you are aiming for a no-kill run.

Getting Caught while in Disguise
If you are spotted by an enemy soldier in the outer wall while wearing the scientist’s uniform, you will be taken away, causing the game to restart from the cell in the east.

The Fear Boss Guide
Tips to Beat the Fear
- The Fear becomes invisible but can be seen using Thermal Goggles.
- If you drop rotten or toxic food when The Fear stamina is less than half, the boss will pick it up and eat it, allowing you to poison him.
- You can throw food near the trap to cause the boss to get caught.
Normal Strategy
Remove poison arrows using Cure.
Keep track of the boss’ location using Thermal Goggles. Inflict damage with M37 at close range and AK-47 or XM16E1 at long range.
No-Kill Strategy (Deplete Stamina)
Use Cure to remove the effects of the poison arrows.
Use Fake Death Pills to trick The Fear into coming to you. When he turns away, use the Revival Pill to get up.
Once you get back up, throw a Stun Grenade at him. Then, fire at him repeatedly with your weapon to deplete his stamina.
When the boss’ stamina is at half, throw out a Fly Agaric or Poison Dart Frog at him to make him it eat it.
Ponizovje Warehouse

The End Boss Guide
Tips to Beat The End
- If you run out of stamina during the battle, you will be taken to the prison in the Graniny Gorky Lab.
- If you save during the battle with The End and load it after the game console’s date has passed between 3 and 7 days, you will be imprisoned.
- If you save during the battle with The End and load it after the game console’s date has passed for 8 days or more, The End will die of old age.
- If you killed The End earlier outside the Ponizovje Warehouse, the Ocelot Unit will appear instead.
- The End’s initial location is fixed (he will always be at the south hill).
- If you hold up The End 3 times he will drop the Moss Camouflage Uniform.
Normal Strategy
After dealing enough damage to The End at his initial location, follow his footprints using the Thermal Goggles. Have The End shoot you on purpose and open the map to see his location. You can also use smoke grenades to conceal yourself during the fight.
No-Kill Strategy (Deplete Stamina)
While crouching, hit The End with the cigarette gas spray gun and hold him up. After The End drops the Moss Camo Uniform, hit him with gas spray gun again once. Then, put a stun grenade on The End’s body (shifting the perspective upwards).
Hit The End with the spray gun once again. When you run out of stun grenades, hit The End with a spray gun twice to knock him down. Afterwards, move ahead of The End on the road to the west and hit him with a spray gun again as he runs over.
Finish The End off. If you are unable to do so, The End will run away. Use Thermal Goggles to chase and deal the final blow.

Headshot the enemy with auto-aim from the entrance.
Press ◻︎ near the entrance to automatically aim at the enemy on the slope. Normal auto-aim would aim at the body, but because the opponent is in a higher position, the aim would be at the head.
Climb the slope with the Cardboard Box.
Normally your movement speed will slow down on a slope. Equipping the Cardboard Box, however, lets you climb up at normal speed.
Neutralize the enemy soldiers in the middle of the slope.
Shoot enemy soldiers halfway up the slope to knock them out.
Gas drum near the top of the mountain.
There are 3 enemies near the top of the mountain. Take out two of them by shooting the nearby gas drum. Then, use a stun grenade on the remaining enemy.

Enemy soldiers will be patrolling high up north of the starting point. Use your Binoculars to aim for a headshot. Equip the Binoculars and put them on your head. Then, press and hold L2 to remove the binoculars before pressing R1 + ◻︎. If you put one enemy soldier to sleep, another will come to wake them up. Tranq the one that comes as well.
Enemy soldiers moving in the trenches can be attacked from above.
Enemy soldiers in trenches can be stunned by dropping down on them from above.

The Fury Boss Guide
Tips to Beat The Fury
- You can avoid the flames by hiding behind pillars.
- If you are set on fire, equip the Cardboard Box to put yourself out.
Normal Strategy
Inflict damage at long range on The Fury using the SVD. At close range, try to break the boss’ fireproof suit using your survival knife or M37. After breaking The Fury’s suit, you can then deal heavy damage on the boss by using White Phosphorus Grenades on the oil drums.
No-Kill Strategy (Deplete Stamina)
Move forward from the starting point and fire 3 to 4 Mosin Nagant shots at The Fury as he flies (after firing, press R2 twice to shoot continuously).
Hide behind a pillar to avoid the flames around the area.
Fire 2 shots at intervals while fighting defensively. You can also hit the boss just before he takes off.

How to Kidnap Raikov

- Wain until Raikov comes out of the room.
- Throw Raikov when he becomes suspicious of the box.
- Equip the Spider Camouflage Uniform and carry Raikov to the locker room (pass to the left side of the passage so as not to open the door).

Taking Out the Transmitter
If you proceed with the transmitter embedded in Snake, you will need to battle the Ocelot Unit later so use a fork to take it out.
Escaping Solitary Confinement
Spin Snake about 11 times on the Cure screen to make him vomit. Then, open the door with the frequency “144.75.”
Take out the bullet with Cure to get the Fake Death Pill and use it.
Knocking Out Johnny
Knock out Johnny when he opens the cell. Then, loot him for a smoke grenade and Instant Noodles.

The Sorrow Boss Guide
Tips for The Sorrow Encounter
- The Sorrow is not battled as a regular boss unlike the other Cobras.
- The ghosts of enemy soldiers you have killed so far will appear (up to 100 will appear).
- If you do not get the Spirit Camouflage Uniform, go underwater and drown on purpose, or use a resuscitator.
How to Get the Spirit Camouflage Uniform
Go forward to the end of the waterway. Dodge the approaching ghosts to the left and right as they will damage you.
Dodge to the left and right to avoid the psychic waves.
If you touch The Sorrow’s body at the end of the waterway, you will die instantly. Use a Revival Pill to regain consciousness. Then, touch The Sorrow’s body to get the uniform.
Tikhogornyj

Disguise yourself as one of the Maintenance Crew.
If you wear the Maintenance Crew disguise, enemy soldiers will not recognize you.
Real maintenance personnel, however, will be suspicious of you if you go near them. When this happens, equip a Cardboard Box and move away from them.
Volgin Boss Guide
Tips to Beat Volgin
- If you wear the Raikov mask during the fight, Volgin will get angry.
- Throwing a tree frog at Volgin will distract him.
- Pick up the ammo and grenades that Ocelot throws at you during the fight.
- Grab-and-throw is effective against Volgin.
- Prone to avoid the bullets that Volgin charges with electricity and fires in all directions.
Normal Strategy
Wear the Raikov mask and throw tree frogs at Volgin to disguise him. Then, use the RPG-7 to deal damage.
You can also deplete his health fairly easily with the M63.
You can attack Volgin briefly as he is charging an attack.
No-Kill Strategy (Deplete Stamina)
At the start of the fight, run and throw Volgin to make him kneel. Then, shoot him twice with the MK22 and roll.
Shoot him in the head once with the Mosin Nagant. Then, dodge the electric shock attack and grab him again.
During the second half of the fight, Volgin will unleash an attack in different directions. Avoid Volgin’s attacks as he will be somewhat careless during this phase.
Shoot Volgin with the Mosin Nagant again.
Distract him again with a tree frog and shoot him with the Mosin Nagant again.
After you deplete Volgin’s stamina, you will get the Cold War Camouflage Uniform.

Prevents you from being attacked by enemy soldiers.
Wearing the Cold War Camouflage Uniform (obtained by defeating Volgin via stamina kill) will cause enemy soldiers to hesitate attacking you from the front. You will also take reduced damage from incoming attacks with the suit equipped
Damage the Shagohod before the actual fight.
You can fire RPGs at the Shagohod using Tactical Reload to slightly damage it before the actual fight. This can give you an easier time taking down the massive armored vehicle than if you fought it with its health full.
Use stun grenades to deal with groups of enemies.
Every now and then, several enemy soldiers will appear and block your path. Resort to stun grenades to quickly neutralize the soldiers instead of fighting them one by one. Then, use the Mosin Nagant to tranq the soldiers that appear in the breezeway.

No-Kill Strategy (Deplete Stamina)
Damage the Shagohod’s treads to hinder its mobility. Then, shoot Volgin in the head with the Mosin Nagant.
Groznyj Grad Rail Bridge North

EVA hates snakes and will run away if there is a one in her direction. Take care of the snake first to allow her to pass.

Tips to Beat The Boss
- Be careful when using grenades or the RPG as The Boss can disassemble them.
- Press the ○ button to perform a CQC reversal when The Boss grabs you.
Normal Strategy
You can deal big damage to The Boss by using the RPG 3 times. You can also deplete her health by shooting her with the SVD.
Use the M37 on The Boss after a successful CQC reversal.
No-Kill Strategy (Deplete Stamina)
Shoot The Boss with the Mosin Nagant twice after CQC reversal. Then, grab-and-throw The Boss before throwing a stun grenade at her.
Shoot The Boss again with the Mosin Nagant. Then, bait The Boss into grabbing you and go for a CQC reversal.
If The Boss runs away, chase her and shoot her with the MK22.
